Food Quality and Safety Policy – Blue Island Plc

The Management of Blue Island Plc, in the context of packaging, processing, distribution, and marketing of fresh, frozen, and defrosted farmed and open-sea fish, and with a focus on maintaining the company’s identity and good reputation, has established the following Food Quality and Safety Policy:

The key goals of the Policy are:

  • Full satisfaction of customer requirements, as well as legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Continuous improvement of the quality of services and products provided.
  • Providing products and services at competitive prices, with the best use of human resources, equipment, know-how, and company activities.
  • Ensuring the hygiene and safety of products through the implementation of a Quality Management System based on relevant Cypriot and European legislation and the principles of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points).
  • Implementation, review, and continuous improvement of the effectiveness of the Quality Management System according to ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 22000:2005 standards.

The Company’s Management is committed to achieving these goals through processes that include preventive measures and controls. The goal is to avoid customer dissatisfaction, continuously monitor and meet their requirements, ensure the safety of products available on the market, and appropriately select and define staff roles.

This collective commitment from the Management and staff ensures that all products fully comply with the specified standards, as defined in the HACCP Quality Manual, the Quality System Procedures, and the company’s Work Instructions. At the same time, it guarantees consistency in meeting our customers’ expectations.

The Management has given the Quality Officer and HACCP Coordinator the necessary authority and freedom to address any quality and food safety-related issues promptly, propose corrective actions, and ensure their implementation and evaluation.

The CEO holds the final responsibility for overseeing the Quality Management System and signs the Quality and Food Safety Policy of Blue Island Plc.
